The Green Building Institute’s (GBI) Green Building College took home the “Innovation of the Year” award at the 2016 Sustainability Awards in Sydney last week.
Upon accepting the award and giving it a deserving kiss, Managing Director Daniel Wurm, said, “(The) GBI are honoured to recieve the award, and appreciate the acknowledgement of our hard work. We look forward to connecting with more businesses in the building and design industry to work together to provide green skills for designers and builders, right through to the tradies that are the boots on the ground.”
The GBI has three directors and with their diverse backgrounds they created a platform the building industry was missing. With a passion for a greener and healthier world Daniel Wurm, Ronny Matzat and Danielle King have brought to professionals and tradies alike a chance to make a change in an industry that can have so much more potential.
"We wanted to set something up which we could reach the most people in the most efficient way. The only solution was to go online," Ronny said. "And why do we want to reach a lot of people? We want to educate as many as we can to make the biggest impact in the shortest amount of time. We wanted to change people’s attitude and build a greener world sooner rather than later."
GBI is the world’s first online college providing accredited green skills training to building and property professionals. They currently use the latest e-learning systems so anyone can study at home or on the worksite. They offer courses for tradies, builders, owner builders and real estate professionals.
